Jessie: I love Sydney's evolution as a character, especially in Silver Shadows. Fortunately, I feel like I learn more about writing with each book, so by now I have a pretty good sense of how long things will take and can plan accordingly … most of the time. Now, with Bloodlines, I only have a limited amount of time to work each day, which means I really have to be on my game and have excellent time-management skills. Richelle: The writing process is similar, except that I have a much more complicated schedule to work with now! I wrote the Vampire Academy series before I had kids, so I had a lot more time and could easily pull all-nighters. Is there a difference in the writing process or getting into the characters' heads? Jessie: Bloodlines has been going on for almost as long as VA. Richelle Mead, author of Silver Shadows (out tomorrow!), joins HEA to chat about her Bloodlines series, Young Adult fiction and what readers can expect in the next Bloodlines novel ( The Ruby Circle in February!).
